Lovable Alternatives for Websites (Not Apps): Five Builders With a Flat Price

Field notePublished Oct 13, 2026Verified Oct 13, 2026

If what you built in Lovable is a website rather than an app, the best Lovable alternative is a site builder with a flat price: Framer if design matters most, Wix if the site will grow bookings or a shop, Hostinger if the bill is the deciding number, 10Web if you want WordPress underneath, and Durable if you run a local service business. If you are building an app, with logins and a database behind the pages, stay with Lovable or another code generator; nothing on this list replaces that.

Every other list of Lovable alternatives we read assumed the reader was building software, and most were written by a vendor ranking its own product first. This one is for the large group who used Lovable to make a landing page or a marketing site and are now paying credits to change a headline. Prices below were read from each vendor's US pricing page on 9 October 2026. We did not build anything for this page; credit costs come from Lovable's own published examples, and every dollar figure is arithmetic on those.

Website or app: the one question that picks the alternative

Lovable writes a real codebase. That is why it sits second on our ranking of AI website builders at 8.5, and it is also why it can be the wrong home for a brochure site. A codebase is the right shape for something with accounts, records and rules. A five-page site for a bakery is mostly words, photos and a contact form, and a site builder stores that in a visual editor where anyone on the team can change it without a prompt.

So ask the question plainly. If visitors sign in, save things or see data that belongs to them, you have an app, and the honest alternatives are other code generators. If visitors read, look and get in touch, you have a website, and paying per edit is a cost you can retire.

Why people leave Lovable, in Lovable's own terms

Nothing here is a complaint we invented; it is how Lovable's documentation describes its billing. There is one credit balance for building, chatting, hosting the app and running its built-in backend, which Lovable calls Cloud. A Plan mode message costs 1 credit plus any research it triggers. Build mode is priced by the work done, so a small edit costs less than a new page.

Bar chart: Lovable's example prompts cost 0.50 to 2.00 credits, which is $0.13 to $0.50 each at the Pro rate of $0.25 a credit.

Lovable's examples are cheap one at a time: 0.50 credits to make a button gray, 0.90 to remove a footer, 1.20 to add authentication and 2.00 to build a landing page with images. (The pricing page quotes 1.70 for a similar landing-page prompt; the docs say 2.00, and we use the docs.) At $25 for 100 credits on Pro, a credit is worth $0.25, so those edits run from about 13 cents to 50 cents. Top-up credits cost more, $15 per 50, which is $0.30 each.

The friction is not the size of one charge. It is that a website is never finished: opening hours change, a team photo goes stale, a seasonal offer comes and goes. Each change is a metered message, plan credits expire two months after they are issued on monthly billing, and the monthly cloud grant covers hosting only up to its 20 credits. A published site does stay live if the balance hits zero, which Lovable states plainly, but apps that rely on the built-in backend can pause.

Five website-first alternatives, with the price to keep a site live

Each entry below names the cheapest plan that puts the site on your own domain, what it costs on day one, and the catch we would want to know before moving. The entries run in order of the job each one suits, not in score order; the scores themselves sit on our ranking page.

Framer: the closest feel, with a design canvas

Framer is the alternative most Lovable site-builders will recognise: you prompt, it drafts, and you land in a real design canvas instead of a code diff. Basic costs $10 a month on yearly billing and adds your own domain, 30 pages, 50 GB of bandwidth and 1,000 AI credits a month. The "Made in Framer" badge disappears once you connect a custom domain or upgrade, after you republish. The free plan publishes on a Framer domain with 1 GB of bandwidth and 500 AI credits to try, and Framer describes it as suited to non-commercial use. Page caps are the catch: 30 on Basic and 150 on Pro, which costs $30 a month. If your Lovable project was a marketing site, start on Framer's free plan and rebuild the home page first; our Framer AI review covers the editor in depth.

Wix: the platform that grows sideways

Wix's AI builder, driven by its Aria agent, drafts a site from a prompt and hands it to an editor where you can keep prompting or drag things by hand. Light is $17 a month billed yearly before tax, connects a domain and comes with 2 GB of storage, but it cannot take payments; Core at $29 is the first tier that can. The reason to choose Wix over a cheaper rival is everything it bolts on later: bookings, a store, members. If your roadmap reads like that, build the replacement on Wix. Our Wix AI website builder guide walks through each AI mode.

Hostinger: the smallest bill, read to the end

Hostinger's Premium builder plan is advertised at $2.99 a month, and that is true on a 48-month prepay: $143.52 up front, then $10.99 a month on renewal. For that you get up to three sites, a domain free for the first year, two mailboxes for each site during the first 12 months and five one-time AI credits. There is a 30-day money-back guarantee. Over four years it is the cheapest route on this page by a distance. The fifth year is where the pricing changes, so diarise it. If one bill for site, domain and email is the goal, Hostinger's builder is the one to price; our Hostinger AI review runs the renewal sums.

10Web: WordPress underneath

10Web generates a WordPress site on managed hosting, which matters if you liked owning Lovable's code and want an exit door that isn't one vendor's editor. AI Starter is $10 a month billed annually, $120 a year against a regular $240, with one site, 100 AI credits a month and 10,000 visitors a month. Note the refund rule: the 30-day money-back guarantee applies only until you claim the free domain. If WordPress is a requirement, try 10Web, and read our 10Web review for the editing trade-offs.

Durable: a live site for a local business

Durable is built for service businesses that want to exist online by this evening. The free plan includes 300 AI credits in total and publishes on a durable.site subdomain. Launch is $25 a month, or $22 on annual billing, with 1,000 AI credits a month and a free domain worth up to $20. Grow is $49, or $41 annually. It is the least flexible of the five, and that is the point: fewer choices, faster launch. For a plumber or a salon, Durable is the shortest path; our Durable review has the limits.

Cost to keep a site live for a year

Monthly rates hide how much leaves your account on the first day, so the chart below shows the day-one charge for each builder's cheapest custom-domain plan.

Bar chart of the day-one charge for the cheapest custom-domain plan: Framer $120, 10Web $120, Hostinger $143.52 for 48 months, Wix $204, Lovable $250, Durable $264.

Two readings matter. First, Lovable's annual Pro plan at $250 sits near the top, but it also buys a code generator, not just hosting; if you only edit text twice a year, you are paying for capability you do not use. Second, Hostinger's $143.52 buys four years, not one. Divide it and it is $35.88 a year, but year five arrives at $10.99 a month, or $131.88 a year. None of the other vendors printed a separate renewal rate on the pages we read, so we have not invented one.

If you are building an app: the honest short list

If the answer to the first question was "app", a website builder will frustrate you. The tools people usually compare with Lovable for that job are Bolt, Replit, v0, Bubble and Cursor, and they are named here without links because we do not review them on this site. One price we did read: Bolt Pro is $25 a month, the same entry price as Lovable Pro, metered in tokens rather than credits, with a free tier of 1 million tokens a month and a 300,000 daily limit. Or stay put. Lovable remains our pick for custom builds, and its plans start with a free tier that lets you keep a project without paying.

Moving a Lovable site out

Lovable's documentation lists Git sync with GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket on every plan, including Free, so your code can leave even if you never paid. Downloading or editing the code directly, connecting a custom domain and removing the "Edit with Lovable" badge are Pro features. That means the exit is easy, and none of the five builders above can import a React codebase, so expect to rebuild the pages in the new editor rather than migrate them.

The practical order: copy every page's text and images out of the project, rebuild the pages in the new builder, test the forms, then move the domain. If you bought the domain elsewhere, you point its DNS at the new host. Keep the Lovable project until the new site has been live for a few weeks; it costs nothing to leave a published site in place, and it is your fallback.

Who should pick what

Decision flow: an app stays on Lovable or another code generator; a website goes to Framer for design, Wix for add-ons, Hostinger for the lowest bill, 10Web for WordPress, or Durable for a local service site.

Students have one more option worth knowing before leaving: Lovable gives students and teachers 50% off Pro with 100 credits for up to 12 months, on monthly billing only. That halves the cost of staying while you decide.

Edge cases

  • You need both. A marketing site plus a logged-in app can live on two tools: the site on Framer or Wix, the app on Lovable under a subdomain.
  • Your site has a form that writes to a database. That is app behaviour. Site builders send form entries to email or their own dashboards, so check that this is enough before you move.
  • You prepaid a year of Lovable. Annual plan credits stay valid until a month after the billing period ends, so there is no rush to move mid-term.
  • You want zero cost. No alternative here gives you a custom domain for $0. Free tiers exist on Framer, Wix and Durable, all on the vendor's subdomain; our free AI website builders guide compares them.

Lovable alternatives: quick answers

What is the best alternative to Lovable for a website?

Framer, for most people who used Lovable to build a marketing site. It drafts from a prompt too, but you edit in a visual canvas instead of spending credits on every change, and Basic costs $10 a month on yearly billing with your own domain.

Is there a free Lovable alternative?

Yes, with a subdomain. Framer, Wix and Durable all publish on free plans on their own domains, with their branding attached. A custom domain needs a paid plan on all three. Lovable itself is free for up to 5 credits a day, capped at 30 a month.

What are sites like Lovable that build apps?

Bolt, Replit, v0, Bubble and Cursor are the names usually compared with Lovable for app work. Bolt Pro costs $25 a month, the same as Lovable Pro, but it meters tokens rather than credits, so the two allowances cannot be compared directly.

Can I take my Lovable site to another builder?

You can take the code: Git sync works on every Lovable plan, and code download is a Pro feature. Site builders cannot import that code, though, so moving to Framer, Wix or Hostinger means rebuilding the pages and then pointing your domain at the new host.

What happens to my Lovable site if I stop paying?

Lovable says a published site stays live when your credits run out, and its pages keep serving. Apps that depend on Lovable's built-in backend or AI features can pause, and custom domains and badge removal are Pro features, so check those before downgrading.
