The Wix AI website builder is what you actually land on when you search for Wix ADI, and it is a different machine: a conversational agent called Aria that collects your business in a chat and returns a complete draft site on Wix's infrastructure. We ran the lab's standing brief through it — five pages for a fictional local coffee roaster, home, menu, about, wholesale, contact — and scored the result on the same five dimensions every builder on this bench faces. It lands at 8.0 out of 10, fourth of six. That figure is mostly a verdict on the platform underneath the generator rather than on the generator itself, which is the most useful sentence in this report.

The five pages that came back

One clarification before the readout, because the search term and the product stopped matching. ADI, Wix's original questionnaire generator, was retired — ADI sites became unsupported on November 10, 2024, and the existing ones were migrated into the standard Wix Editor. Handed the standing brief, the flow returned the five pages we asked for. The wholesale page is the trap we set for template-driven tools — it pitches cafes rather than retail buyers and ends in an inquiry form — and Wix's form tooling has handled that shape for a decade, so nothing snapped. The plan ladder behind the draft

The free plan is free forever: build with the AI, publish to a username.wixsite.com address, and live with Wix advertising on the page and no custom domain. As a rehearsal room it is excellent. As a storefront it puts an advertisement for Wix above your own headline, permanently, and no amount of editing removes it. Read the pairs rather than the individual numbers. The gap between annual and month-to-month billing runs around 30 percent, which is among the widest we track, so flexibility on Wix is an expensive habit rather than a free one. Light is the rung most brochure sites want, with one caveat worth pricing before you commit: 2 GB of storage is genuinely tight the moment photography arrives, and the remedy is a Core upgrade you had not budgeted for. The moment money changes hands on the site, Core stops being an option and becomes the floor.

What we would do with the draft

The Wix AI website builder costs nothing to evaluate, which is the practical point of this whole report. Then read the structure before the styling: page order, section order, and what the flow decided your wholesale page was for. If the bones are wrong, regenerate now, because the template commitment is real and it does not soften later. When a draft survives that inspection, the money starts, and for a brochure site that means connecting your domain on the Light plan — the cheapest rung that takes Wix's advertising off a page you designed.

The second decision is payments, and it is cheaper to settle before launch than after. Light takes no money of any kind, so a roaster selling bags online, a studio charging deposits, and anyone wanting paid Bookings all land on Core at $29 a month billed annually. Twelve dollars a month separates the two tiers, every month, and buying into that gap late means reworking pages you had already finished. If money will ever move through the site, start on Core rather than upgrading into it. If it will not, Light is the honest answer, and the App Market is still sitting there on the day you change your mind.
