Lovable Cloud Pricing (2026): Plans, Credits and the Cost of Hosting After the Build

Field notePublished Oct 13, 2026Verified Oct 13, 2026

Lovable Cloud pricing is not a separate price list. Hosting your site and running its built-in backend draw on the same credit balance as building it, and every plan, Free included, carries a 20-credit monthly Cloud grant that Lovable spends first. For a landing page or a brochure site, Lovable's pricing FAQ says that grant usually covers the hosting outright; for an app with a database, sign-ins and file uploads, anything beyond it comes out of your general credits. The building is what costs money: Pro starts at $25 a month, or $250 a year, for 100 credits.

Pay for Pro if you want your own domain, no Lovable badge, or more than 30 build credits a month. Think twice if what you want is a five-page site you will tinker with for years, because a flat-price builder is cheaper to live with. Nothing here comes from a test build of ours: every figure is Lovable's own, read from its pricing page and documentation on 12 October 2026, and every dollar estimate is arithmetic on those figures.

Lovable pricing at a glance

Lovable sells four plans: Free, Pro, Business and Enterprise, the last priced by contract. Plans are charged per workspace, not per seat, so inviting more people changes how fast the shared credits run down rather than the bill. Paying yearly gives two months free.

Business$50 a month or $500 a yearFrom 1005 a day, no monthly cap20 Cloud + 4 AI a monthYes

Two lines in that table matter most to someone building a website. The custom domain is a Pro feature, and so is removing the Edit with Lovable badge. Free also cannot edit or download the code, though it can sync it to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket. Business adds single sign-on, publishing to logged-in workspace members only, design templates and role-based access; none of that changes what a public website can do.

How Lovable Cloud pricing works

Lovable Cloud is the name for Lovable hosting your app plus its built-in backend: a database, sign-in, file storage, scheduled jobs, edge functions and realtime updates, built on Supabase's open-source foundation. Lovable meters all of it as Cloud usage and charges it to your credit balance, reporting it under Run credits alongside AI gateway and connector usage.

The monthly Cloud grant is 20 credits on Free, Pro and Business. On Free it resets on the first of each month at midnight UTC; on paid plans it resets with your billing cycle, and on every plan the unused part disappears rather than rolling over. Lovable labels the grant a temporary offering that may change. When it runs out, Cloud usage simply continues from your general credits, so a busy app does not stop at the grant line. At the Pro plan rate of $0.25 a credit, 20 credits works out at $5 of Cloud usage a month.

What drives Cloud usage is listed rather than priced. Lovable names the database server, meaning the instance size and how long it runs, database storage, stored files, network traffic, background compute and realtime messages. It publishes no per-gigabyte or per-hour rate card. Instead, the Manage instance dialog shows an estimated monthly credit cost for each database size, based on your app's last 30 days. Free projects stay on the smallest Tiny instance, while paid plans can choose Tiny, Mini, Small, Medium, Large or X-Large; Lovable renamed those sizes on 31 July 2026 without changing the hourly prices.

Three details keep a quiet project cheap. Lovable pauses inactive Cloud projects automatically, stored files keep using credits even while a project is paused, and removing Cloud from a project that never needed a backend stops its usage entirely, at the cost of permanently deleting its Cloud data. Export first if anything in it matters.

How credits are spent on building

Plan mode costs 1 credit a message, plus any research Lovable runs while planning. Build mode, where Lovable actually changes your project, charges for the work completed, which means a small change costs a fraction of a credit and a multi-page generation costs more. Lovable's two official pages disagree slightly on the clearest example: its pricing FAQ prices a landing page built with images at 1.70 credits, while the docs list 2.00 for the same kind of request. Either way, that is 50 cents or less at the Pro rate.

Some costs only show up in the docs. Lovable checks in with you when one long Build mode message crosses 20 credits, the default level, and a single message can keep working for up to 10 hours. A request you stop is charged for the work done so far, and one sent as a goal with the /goal command costs noticeably more for the same work. The chat pricing, including a daily chat allowance that is larger on paid plans, is marked temporary and runs through 31 October 2026.

How many credits does a website need? On Lovable's illustrative figures, Free's 30 monthly build credits would cover around 15 landing-page generations at 2.00 credits, or 60 small edits at 0.50. A Pro month adds 100 credits to the 5 daily ones. Real projects vary with how much code Lovable has to read and check, so treat those numbers as a ceiling on optimism, not a forecast.

What a credit costs, by where it came from

A credit is not a fixed amount of money. It depends on your plan and on whether it arrived with the subscription or as a top-up, and Lovable says outright that credits are not necessarily equal in value across plans.

Bar chart of dollars per Lovable credit: Pro annual $0.208, Pro 10,000-credit tier $0.225, Pro monthly $0.25, Pro top-up $0.30, Business monthly $0.50, Business top-up $0.60.

The cheapest credits are subscription credits on annual billing, at about $0.208 each on Pro. Top-ups cost more: $15 for 50 credits on Pro, or $0.30 each, and $30 for 50 on Business. If you top up most months, Lovable's own advice is that a bigger tier is usually better value, and the table below shows why.

The credit ladder: 100 to 10,000 credits a month

Pro and Business both come in credit tiers from 100 to 10,000 a month. The per-credit price stays flat up to 800 credits and only starts to fall from 1,200, so the ladder rewards heavy users rather than small sites.

Selected Pro and Business credit tiers, monthly billing, with the price per credit (Lovable docs, 12 October 2026)
Credits a monthProPro per creditPro billed yearlyBusinessBusiness per credit
100$25$0.25$250$50$0.50
400$100$0.25$1,000$200$0.50
1,200$294$0.245$2,940$588$0.49
2,000$480$0.24$4,800$960$0.48
5,000$1,125$0.225$11,250$2,250$0.45
10,000$2,250$0.225$22,500$4,300$0.43

Business costs twice as much per credit, yet Lovable says running an app and its AI features costs the same on both plans. The difference is bookkeeping: each Business credit stands for more dollars, so the same Cloud usage deducts fewer of them. You pay the Business premium for its governance features, not for cheaper hosting.

Expiry and rollover

Every kind of credit has its own clock, and Lovable always spends the grants first, then whichever general credits are closest to expiry.

Timeline of Lovable credit lifetimes: daily credits expire the same day, Cloud and AI grants at the end of the cycle, monthly plan credits after 2 months, top-ups after 12 months, annual plan credits one month after the plan year.

Rollover is real but bounded. Unused monthly plan credits carry over while you stay subscribed, until two months after issue on monthly billing or one month after the plan year on annual billing. Cancelling freezes them: you cannot use them on Free and Lovable does not refund them, though they come back if you resubscribe before they expire. Top-ups and bonus credits stay usable on Free until their own expiry. No credit is refundable for cash.

Hosting after the build: what a finished site costs to keep live

This is the question the pricing page answers least directly, and Lovable's docs answer it well. If you cancel Pro, your workspace moves to Free at the end of the billing period and your published site stays live. A custom domain you connected while on Pro keeps serving the site, because only connecting a new domain requires a paid plan, and a domain bought through Lovable is billed separately from the subscription anyway.

Two things change. The Edit with Lovable badge comes back the next time you publish, so plan any final edits before you step down. And your editing budget drops to Free's 5 daily credits, capped at 30 a month. One more rule, from the cancellation docs: Lovable may unpublish a Free app after 12 months with no visits and no owner login, but only if it has no custom domain.

A year of keeping a finished site online with your own domain: Lovable against three flat-price builders
OptionCost per yearWhat you keepThe catch
Lovable Free, after building on Pro$0 (domain registration extra)Site live; an already-connected domain keeps workingBadge returns on your next publish; 30 build credits a month
Lovable Pro, yearly$250100 credits a month, no badge, code exportPaying for build credits you may not use
Framer Basic, yearly billing$120Visual editor, complimentary domain on yearly30 pages, 50 GB bandwidth
Hostinger Premium$143.52 for 48 months, then $10.99 a monthUp to 3 sites, domain free for a yearFour years paid upfront; renewal is higher
Wix Light$204, billed yearlyAd-free site, 2 GB storageNo online payments on Light

So a website-only buyer has a cheaper pattern than paying $25 every month: build on Pro for as long as the build takes, connect the domain, then decide whether the badge matters enough to keep paying. If that pattern suits you, start on Lovable's free plan and upgrade only for the month you build.

Lovable against flat-price builders on cost

If you will edit the site often for years, a credit meter is the wrong shape of bill. Framer's Basic plan costs $10 a month on yearly billing, or $120 a year, with a complimentary domain on yearly plans and a visual editor that charges nothing per change. Hostinger's Premium builder plan costs $143.52 upfront for 48 months, as of 9 October 2026, then renews at $10.99 a month. Wix Light, at $17 a month on yearly billing, strips out Wix's ads, as of the same date.

Lovable earns its price when the site needs to grow into an app: accounts, a database, logic a template cannot express. It is the reason Lovable ranks second in our AI website builder ranking and why our Lovable review recommends it for anything shaped like software. For pages that will stay pages, the flat-price builders cost less over time.

Edge cases

A few situations change which plan makes sense.

  • Students and teachers: half price on the 100-credit Pro plan, billed monthly, for up to 12 months, once an academic email is verified from a Free workspace. That is $12.50 a month, and top-ups stay at full price.
  • Teams and classes: one workspace, one subscription, unlimited members sharing its credits. Owners on paid plans can set per-member monthly limits, though Cloud and AI usage from deployed apps does not count against them.
  • An app that starts getting real traffic: Cloud usage scales with visitors and stored data, so check the estimated monthly cost in the instance dialog before resizing, and keep auto top-up within a monthly spend limit.
  • A site you will leave for months: a connected custom domain keeps it published on Free, but a backend still needs credits, so a site without one is the safer thing to leave unattended.

Lovable pricing: quick answers

Is Lovable free?

Yes, with limits. Lovable's Free plan includes 5 daily build credits, capped at 30 a month, a 20-credit monthly Cloud grant and up to 5 lovable.app addresses. You need Pro, from $25 a month, for a custom domain, code editing and download, and removing the Lovable badge.

How much does Lovable Cloud cost?

Lovable Cloud has no separate subscription. Hosting and the built-in backend draw credits from your workspace balance, after a 20-credit monthly Cloud grant on Free, Pro and Business. Lovable says most small or new apps stay inside that grant; busier apps pay for database, storage, network and compute in credits.

Do Lovable credits roll over?

Monthly plan credits do, while your subscription stays active, but they still expire: two months after issue on monthly billing, or one month after the plan year on annual billing. Daily build credits and the monthly Cloud and AI grants never roll over. Top-ups last 12 months.

What happens when you run out of Lovable credits?

Building stops, but your published site stays live and keeps serving pages. AI features inside deployed apps stop working, and apps that rely on Lovable Cloud can pause until credits are added or the next grant arrives. A paused backend may need a manual wake-up.

Is there a Lovable student discount?

Yes. Verified students and teachers get 50% off Pro with 100 credits a month on monthly billing, for up to 12 months, which works out at $12.50 a month. Verification uses your academic email domain and must start from a workspace on the Free plan.
